Welcome to the Shia Ithna Asheri Jamaat of Pennsylvania (SIJPA)! It’s wonderful to have you visiting our website. Located at the Al Ahad Islamic Center in Allentown, Pennsylvania, SIJPA strives to meet a variety of needs through our comprehensive services.

 

We’re currently rebuilding and expanding our mosque to better accommodate our growing community. The Lehigh Valley, where we’re situated, is a dynamic economic hub, ranking fifth in the Northeast for economic development and second among mid-sized U.S. regions for business attraction and expansion. It’s also a great place to raise a family, offers excellent healthcare, and was named the ninth-best metro area for retirement in 2022. The region’s economic vitality, highlighted by significant GDP growth, and its recognition as a top region for remote work, continued into 2023.

 

Strategically located, the Lehigh Valley is approximately 60 miles from Philadelphia and 90 miles from New York City. Washington D.C. is about a 3-hour drive away. This proximity to major metros offers the advantages of urban amenities while maintaining a community-oriented environment. Additionally, the region is within a very reasonable commuting distance to the beautiful beaches of New Jersey, New York, Delaware, and Maryland.

 

The Lehigh Valley is serviced by the Lehigh Valley International Airport (ABE), offering nonstop flights to various destinations through Allegiant, American Airlines, Delta, and United. Lehigh Valley also provides easy access to major airports including Philadelphia, Newark, JFK International, and LaGuardia, further connecting residents and visitors to global destinations.
