The religion of Islam is a communal faith whereby one’s spiritual journey to God involves the fulfillment of their responsibility to their community. Our mission is to build and maintain a strong community by offering programs that not only develop a healthy spirit, mind and body, but provide necessary services to our members which include:
COMMUNITY
Our Center is a place for our community to hold special events. The Center also serves as a safe and wholesome space for our youth to learn, participate in athletics, and socialize in a dignified manner.
EDUCATIONAL
We hold regular lectures, workshops, and special events in which our community members expand their knowledge. The programs include presentations on Islamic history, lessons from the Quran and from hadith of the Holy Prophet and the Ahlul Bayt. Topics include health, spirituality and more.
MADRESSA (SUNDAY SCHOOL)
Since the inception of our community over half a century ago, Islamic education for our youth to learn timeless wisdom and gain valuable knowledge to help achieve a firm understanding of their faith, is one of the pillars of our community.
MARRIAGE
Marriage in Islam is a blessing and it is a very important part of our faith.
And among His Signs is this that He created for you mates from among yourselves that ye may dwell in tranquility with them and He has put love and mercy between your (hearts); verily in that are Signs for those who reflect. (Quran, 30:21)
We provide services to facilitate the Nikah ceremony which encompasses the signing of the marriage contract, the marriage sermon, and the verbal agreement to marry between the bride and groom. The official(s) will ensure all Islamic requirements for the marriage are fulfilled.
COUNSELING
Trials visit each of us throughout our lives. During these moments, we need advice and counsel. Key members of our community have a depth of knowledge and many years of experience offering marriage, youth, family, and grief counseling. For cases that require additional counsel, we work with a network Certified Professionals and Alims (Religious Scholars) that can provide the necessary guidance to resolve matters. We understand in these situations privacy is of great importance and handle all matters with strict confidentiality and care.
FUNERAL SERVICES
When the inevitability of death comes to our loved ones, the details and pressures of funerals can be taxing. Funeral arrangements should begin immediately after the death of a loved one. According to Islamic law, burial services should be arranged as soon as possible. It is important for the family to contact our team immediately so we can assist with the funeral services. Our Mayitt (Funeral) Committee facilitates the overall funeral services including Ghusl (washing the body), proper wrapping, prayer services and burial.
